Meet the Photographer
hi, i'm lea!
The photographer behind Lea Macapagal Photography.
I'm a hotelier by trade - a former event planner and currently working in Human Resources. My career has taken me through different industries, but one thing has remained constant: my love for creativity, meaningful experiences, and connecting with people.
Outside of photography, I'm a wife to my wonderful partner, and a proud cat mom to our Kiwi. I've been sorted to Gryffindor since I was 11 years old, enjoy shopping, and never pass up an opportunity to discover a new place. I'm also a DIY girly who loves painting, creating art, and exploring different creative outlets. I suppose I've never been someone who can stick to just one hobby!

HOW IT ALL BEGAN
Photography wasn't something I initially planned to pursue professionally. In fact, it started quite unexpectedly.
I was once tasked with photographing one of our company's galas. Naturally, my Type A personality kicked in. I wanted to do a good job, and I wanted to make sure I had the right equipment to do it. My first thought was to borrow my sister-in-law's camera.
Then my wife suggested something that changed everything:
"Why not buy your own? You love taking photos."
And so, I did.
What began as a simple purchase soon turned into a genuine passion. I spent countless hours learning, practicing, experimenting, and discovering the joy of documenting people and their stories. What started as an unexpected assignment eventually became something I wanted to pursue beyond my day-to-day career.
Looking back, perhaps photography was always there. I just needed a little encouragement to take it further.

Gryffindor, of course! A little courage, a little stubbornness, and probably a tendency to jump into things before thinking them through.
WHAT'S MY COMFORT SHOW?
Could it be more obvious? FRIENDS! I've watched it countless times, and somehow, it's still just as entertaining.
WHAT'S MY IDEA OF A PERFECT DAY?
Discovering a new place, exploring cute little shops, enjoying good food, and finding inspiration in the little things along the way.
WHAT DO I ENJOY OUTSIDE OF PHOTOGRAPHY?
I'm a creative at heart! I love painting, making art, and taking on DIY projects. There's always a new creative idea somewhere in my head.
HOW WOULD I DESDESCRIBE... ME?
A little Type A, definitely detail-oriented, and probably an overthinker. I love a good plan, thoughtful details, and being prepared for just about anything!
